Well, time for some new photos. And a new adventure!
I bought Doug a digital camera for Christmas, mainly because he needed one for taking photos of jobsites, etc., but also because we didn't have a small, in-obtrusive, point-and-shoot camera. It's hard to sneak up on people with a camera as big as my SLR!
Of course, poor Doug has to fight me for the camera. Surprise, surprise! While our new little digital is very good, and has lots of different functions, and takes very good photos, it still is not my SLR. None-the-less, I've been having fun experimenting with shots!

Anyone who's been living in Ontario knows just how much snow we've been getting this winter. The weather has made for some great photo-ops!
Yes, I know. It's October, and I'm only now posting shots from the rest of our trip down east...
...but at least I'm actually posting them!!!
(As far as I'm concerned, you can't go to the Maritimes, and come back without any photos of fishing boats.....)
And how's this for famous vistas! It's an incredible drive, one I'll remember for a very long time! The Cabot Trail winds its way through the Cape Breton Highlands National Park, through some beautiful little towns, and takes your breath away with some of the views!
...but at least I'm actually posting them!!!

The first batch of photos are here!! I got back the rolls I took in Newfoundland, up until the drive back across to get the ferry. Here are some shots from Cape Spear!
Yes, you counted 2 different lighthouses, and both are on Cape Spear. The short, squat lighthouse is the original one, built somewhere around the 1830's. The tall, classic lighthouse is the current working lighthouse.

We also went up Signal Hill - here's Doug at the Cabot Tower (it was a very windy day, as is evidenced by the Canadian flag!), and a view of the lighthouse at the entrance to St. John's Harbour, from the top of Signal Hill.

There are many more photos, I've gotten 6 rolls of film developed so far, and another 7 are being developed as I write! I'll post new ones as I get them. Still to come: the Cabot Trail, Bay of Fundy, Cape Breton, and more!

Yes! Finally some new photos!!
We visited Mom and Dad up at Pog Lake in Algonquin Park in July, and took the canoe out for a paddle early on the Sunday morning. (by early, I mean we were on the water by 7am) It was beautiful - the mist was rising off the water, it was so quiet and peaceful that we could hear some campers snoring in their campers from the water! Times I was SO glad I had my camera along!

Did you know a chicory can (and will!) swim clear across a lake? We actually followed this little guy all the way across Whitefish Lake....his little hind legs were just chuggin' right along!!

To be honest, I just haven't had time to scan photos, and there are a lot of my recent photos that only just got developed! I will post a bunch more very soon, now that things have slowed down for the summer, and I've got my camera back out.
In the mean time, I took this one at my Mom's birthday party the other week:
The Rayment and Kent kids were playing follow the leader/catch me if you can for most of the evening....the fact that Ethan is just a blur running by the camera, kinda says it all!
